Ingredients
- 250 g onions
- 100 ml meat broth
- 2 tbs hot mustard
- 2 tbs apricot jam
- 4 Rump steaks (approx. 150 g each)
- salt, pepper
Preparation
1. Peel and slice the onions into thin rings. Mix together the broth, mustard and apricot jam.
2. Heat the pan on highest level up to the roasting window, then switch to medium level, place the steaks inside and sear on each side for approx. 3 minutes. Remove the steaks from the pan and wrap them in aluminum foil.
3. Add the onions to the pan and cook for approx. 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Stir the mustard sauce, then add it to the pan, mix well and season.
4. Switch off the heat, season the steaks as well and add them back to the onion sauce. Cover with the lid and rest the steaks for approx. 10 minutes, depending on your preferred level of doneness.
