Ingredients
Dampfnudeln (steamed sweet dumplings):
- 500 g flour
- 30 g fresh yeast
- 1/2 ts sugar
- 200 ml milk, lukewarm
- 2 spring onions
- 1 ts salt
- 1 tbs AMC Rustico (or other mixed dried herbs)
- 75 g butter
- 1 egg
- 2 egg yolks
- 50 g chopped Parmesan
- 150 g bacon cubes
Bell peppers:
- 2 spring onions
- 2 sweet peppers
- 500 g tomatoes
- salt, pepper
Preparation
1. For the yeast dough, put the flour in a bowl, make a “well” in the center of the flour, and crumble the yeast into it. Stir with the milk, some flour, and sugar. Cover and let the dough rise for approx. 20 minutes.
2. Clean and finely cut the spring onions for the steamed dumplings. Knead the rest of the ingredients up to and including the diced bacon into the dough. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm location until the mixture has visibly increased in bulk.
3. Clean and finely cut the spring onions for the vegetables. Clean and finely dice the bell peppers and tomatoes. Mix everything in the pot.
4. Grease the sieve inserts with butter. Divide the yeast dough in to 12 pieces, make dumplings, divide in the sieve inserts, place both on the pot, and close with the EasyQuick with the 24 cm sealing ring.
5. Heat the pot on highest level up to the steam window, switch to a low level, and cook for approx. 12 minutes in the steam area.
6. At the end of cooking time, season the vegetables to taste and plate with the steamed dumplings.
