Ingredients
- 100 g onions, sliced
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 4 cloves
- 4 green cardamom
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 1 tbs ginger garlic paste
- 200 g tomatoes, grated
- 200 g potatoes, diced
- 50 g french beans, chopped
- 150 g carrots, diced
- 100 g cauliflower florets
- 1 cup shelled green peas
- 200 g millets
- 2 cups water
- salt to taste
- 4 tbs coriander leaves, chopped
- 4 tbs mint leaves,chopped
Spice powders:
- 1/2 ts turmeric powder
- 1 ts chilli powder
- 1 ts garam masala powder
Seasoning:
- 100 g onion, sliced
- 1 ts ghee/oil
Preparation
1. Place onions, whole spices and green chilli in a pot. Place pot on the hob and set it at highest level. Switch on Audiotherm, fit it on Visiotherm and turn it until the roasting symbol appears.
2. As soon as Audiotherm beeps on reaching the roasting window, set hob to low level and roast the onions until they turn light brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and stir in the grated tomato.
3. Add the vegetables along with spice powders. Mix well.
4. Add rice, water and salt to taste, followed by coriander and mint leaves.
5. Close the pot with Secuquick softline, set hob to highest level again, switch on Audiothem, enter approx. 1 minute cooking time in the Audiotherm, fit it on Visiotherm and turn until the soft symbol appears.
6. As soon as the Audiotherm beeps on reaching the soft window, set hob to low level and cook until done. At the end of cooking time, place the pot in an inverted lid and leave it to depressurise by itself.
7. For the seasoning, place onions and oil in a small pot. Place pot on the hob. Switch on Audiotherm, fit it on Visiotherm and turn until the roasting symbol appears.
8. As soon as the Audiotherm beeps on reaching the roasting window, set hob at low level and roast onions until golden brown. Switch off the hob and mix into pulao. Serve hot with raita of your choice.
