Ingredients
- 1 spring onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 3 tbs soy sauce
- 3 tbs sesame oil
- 2 tbs rice wine
- 1 tbs sesame
- 250 g firm tofu
- 3 tbs cornstarch
- 1 L oil for deep-frying
Preparation
1. Clean the spring onion and peel the garlic. Finely cut the garlic along with the white part of the spring onion; add to the small pot. Cut the green part of the spring onion into rings.
2. Mix soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine. Heat the pot on highest level up to the roasting window, switch to a low level and briefly roast the onion mixture.
3. Deglaze with the stirred sauce, add sesame seeds and set aside. Cut tofu into sticks and toss in the cornstarch.
4. Add oil to the Wok and heat on highest level up to the roasting window, then switch to a low level. Add tofu sticks to the oil in batches (please be careful, it may splatter a bit). Deep-fry until the turning point is reached.
5. Finish deep-frying the tofu sticks while turning them until golden. Remove and let drain on paper towel. Deep-fry the remaining tofu sticks in the same way.
6. Drizzle tofu sticks with the sauce and sprinkle with spring onion greens.
