Ingredients
- 1500 g white cabbage
- 1 onion
- 150 g bacon cubes
- 2 tbs white wine vinegar
- salt, pepper
- sugar to taste
- caraway powder
Preparation
1. Clean and cut the white cabbage into fine slices with a knife or a mandolin. Peel and finely cut the onion.
2. Heat the pot on highest level up to the roasting window, switch to a low level, add the diced bacon and roast until crispy while turning. Add the diced onion and roast.
3. Stir in the cabbage dripping wet. Heat the pot on highest level up to the vegetable window, switch to a low level and cook for approx. 30 minutes in the vegetable area.
4. Add vinegar, season to taste with salt, pepper, sugar and caraway powder.
Tip
- A small diced quince can be added to create a fruity version.
