Ingredients
- 200 g chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 2 cloves
- 1 piece cinnamon
- 1 black cardamon
Masala
- 1 ts cumin seeds
- 2 onions,chopped
- 1 ts ginger paste
- 1/2 ts garlic paste
- 200 g tomatoes, pureed
- 1 ts red chili powder
- 1/4 ts turmeric powder
- 1 ts garam masala
- 1 ts coriander powder
- 1/2 ts cumin powder
- 1/4 ts dry mango powder
Garnishing
- 2 tbs coriander leaves, chopped
Preparation
1. Wash and soak chickpeas over night.
2. Place soaked chickpeas in the pot, add 2 cups of water. Add whole spices (cinnamon, cardamom & cloves) and salt.
3. Place the pot on hob, close it with Secuquick softline. Switch on Audiotherm, enter approx. 2 minutes cooking time, fit it on Visiotherm and turn it till turbo symbol appears.
4. As soon as the Audiotherm beeps on reaching the turbo window, set hob to low level and finish cooking. As soon as the Audiotherm beeps, switch off the heat and place Secuquick in an inverted lid and allow it to depressurize by itself.
5. To prepare the masala, place a pot on hob and set it at highest level. Switch on Audiotherm, fit it on Visiotherm and turn until the roasting symbol appears.
6. As soon as the Audiotherm beeps on reaching the roasting window, reduce the heat and add the cumin seeds followed by chopped onions.
7. Roast till onions turn light brown in colour, add ginger and garlic paste and tomato puree. Add the powdered spices and salt to taste.
8. Allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes till it starts to boil. When the pressure has come down, open Secuquick.
9. Add the prepared masala to the cooked chickpeas. Close the pot with Secuquick once again, add approx. 1 minute cooking time in Audiotherm, fit it on Visiotherm and cook in the soft area.
10. At the end of cooking time, switch off the heat and place Secuquick in an inverted lid and allow it to depressurize by itself.
11. Open the lid, add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice of your choice.
